Started in 2014, Halcyon Chamber Series is an intimate, accessible, chamber music performance series that brings chamber music masterworks, new music, and everything in between to audiences in New York City and Boston. We are proud to call Scholes Street Studio our New York home for the 2016-2017 season.
Join us for our upcoming concert on Sunday, October 15th at 3:00 pm where we welcome back violinist/violist Anthony Bracewell and violinist Sergey Prokofyev making his Halcyon debut for a powerful concert of early 19th and 20th century masterpieces. First, we start with Austrian composer Hugo Wolf and his flashy and delightful string quartet 'Italian Serenade'. Following that, we will perform parts of the 20th century Polish composer Henryk Górecki's haunting string quartet 'Quasi Una Fantasia', bringing an atmosphere of both Shostakovich and Philip Glass. Finally, we are honored to be joined by special guest artist, Charles Neidich, for a performance of Brahms masterpiece, Clarinet Quintet in b minor, Op. 115. Wine and beer served as always! Hope to see you there!
