Ann Marie Bermont
Violinist and Halcyon Chamber Series Co-Director Ann Marie Bermont is the second prize winner of the 2011 Alexander & Buono International String Competition, and 2010 International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition semi-finalist, with the Bermont & Krafka Duo. She has toured internationally with the Bachakademie Stuttgart, Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, New Jersey Philharmonic, and Phantom of the Opera, and was a member of the 2011 Lucerne Festival Academy, directed by Pierre Boulez. At home she has appeared at The Kennedy Center, DiMenna Center for Classical Music, and numerous times at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and Off-Broadway productions.
In 2010 Ann co-founded Dynamic Motion Company with violinist Cynthia Marcus Smith. An interdisciplinary arts organization that pairs new choreography with the classical chamber music repertoire, Dynamic Motion Company performed at the Alvin Ailey Studios at the Joan Weill Center for Dance in February of 2010. In 2012, the Dynamic Motion Company Quartet was featured on the album American Variations, on which the quartet performs “Bartok in Brooklyn,” composed by Sunny Knable.
Ann received her performance degree from The Boston Conservatory. Post-graduation she continued her studies in New York with Neil Weintrob and Mela Tenenbaum. Ann is also a practicing attorney with Feller Energy Law Group, PLLC.
